Aroe ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect information when you visit aroe.app or use the Aroe mobile app (together, the "Service").
1. Information we collect
We only collect what we need to run the Service:
- Email address — when you join the waitlist, sign up, or contact us.
- Location — when you use the app, we use your device's location (with your permission) to find nearby organic and healthy places. Location data is used on-device and is not stored by us beyond what's needed to return search results.
- Preferences — dietary filters (vegan, gluten free, etc.), saved places, and vibe selections you choose in the app.
- Usage data — anonymous analytics like app opens and feature usage, used only to improve Aroe.
2. How we use your information
- To find and rank places near you that match your filters.
- To send you updates about the launch (only if you joined the waitlist).
- To improve the Service and fix bugs.
- To reply to you if you contact us.
3. What we do not do
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not share your email with third parties for marketing.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites.
4. Third-party services
We use a small number of trusted third-party services to run the Service: Netlify (website hosting and form submissions), Apple App Store (app distribution), and standard mapping providers (Apple Maps and Google Maps) for directions. Each has its own privacy policy.
5. Cookies
Our website uses only essential cookies needed to operate. We do not run ad-tracking or third-party analytics cookies by default.
6. Your rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing info@rafaelfernanz.com. If you are in the EU, UK, or California, you have additional rights under GDPR and CCPA including the right to opt out of the sale of personal data (which we do not do) and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
7. Data retention
We keep your email address for as long as you remain on the waitlist or use the Service. You can ask us to delete your data at any time.
8. Security
We use industry-standard security practices to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and secure storage. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we work hard to protect your data.
9. Children
Aroe is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date above.
